“Psalms 23:6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.”

Where are the three First Fruits in Torah?

Ben writes:

Shalom Rabbi,

I know of the feast of first fruits, and that all things that first belong to G-d, I have heard that their are three times of the year that first fruits are given? Is this correct? Where in Torah is this found?

In Messiah- Thank you

Rabbi Isaac Levy responds:

Yes three times in the year the first fruits belongs to Adonai.

Exodus 23:14: "Three times every year you shall celebrate feasts with Me,"

Exodus 23:15: "Thou shall not appear empty before Me."

Exodus 34:26: "The first of the first fruits of your land you shall brig to the house of the LORD your God."

Leviticus 23:9-11: "And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When you come into the land which I give to you, and reap its harvest, then you shall bring a sheaf of the first fruits of your harvest to the priest."

Shalom,

Rabbi Isaac Levy
